Well-written and destined to be read again. Does what my teachers in school could never do - make science, studies, and psychology interesting to me.

Who doesn't want to learn more about how they function in their lives and why they do stupid things? I came at this book from the perspective of learning about myself and I found I learned a ton about human nature and neuropsychology. I definitely did not expect that, or to enjoy a book that essentially talks about the brain.

Easy reading and thoroughly enjoyable. And yes, I am one of those people that takes advantages of people's brain farts (I'm in marketing). Good selection of topics I've not seen written about before.

I love me some popular psychology books

I love me some popular psychology books. There's a group of scientists somewhere conducting experiments that affect how we should act and what we should do, but they're not often publicized as much as they should be.

And learning about superstitions and magical thinking was the cherry on top. Wealth of information here about how we want to maintain the illusion of control. I couldn't help but think how very human that all seemed. Anyway dense, great impulse buy.

I'm not a psychologist but I almost feel like I could be... Okay that's a stretch but I do feel like I learned more about the brain than all of my college psych courses. I was a little skeptical about this book because it seems like pseudo science disguised as real science, but I was pleasantly proven wrong.

Thinking wrong, thinking too confidently, or thinking against our own interests: there are brain-related causes for all of these things which were fascinating to discover.

Easy read. Helped me see where I see how I can become a better version of myself. I couldn't speed read this book. It made me slow down and think about how and where I can improve where I want to go. Kelly creates new ways on how you can refocus and not feel bad about failing, but look at how to get back on track. Always positive reinforcement. Great book.

This book is dedicated to the most mysterious and controversial events in biblical history. On the basis of the biblical texts and ancient Near Eastern sources, the author, a professor of Near Eastern Studies, presents an entirely new view of the history of Early Israel and the origin of the Hebrew tribes. He suggests that the genealogy of biblical family constitutes a combination of the legends of two tribal groups – the southern and northern, which arrived in Canaan and then left for Egypt at different times. The Southerners stayed in Egypt for 430 years - the Northerners, 250 years - and occupied there different positions in the socio-political structure . These two groups of Western Semitic tribes left Egypt and conquered their place in Canaan at different times as well. The initial version of their common genealogy and history was composed during the United Monarchy in the first half of the 10th century B.C. The early biblical history with which we are familiar, up until 12th century B.C., only represents the history of the southern tribal group, “Jacob,” to which were later added a few fragments from the past concerning the northern group, “Israel.” Where the archaeologists and historians look for the history of one people, is in reality the hidden past of two relative, but different peoples. That is one of the primary reasons of the controversy between the facts mentioned in the Old Testament and archaeological discoveries of the last decades. The book takes a new look at the epoch of the patriarchs, the sojourn in Egypt, the Exodus, and the conquest of Canaan. It is written in a style that is clear, engaging, and easily accessible to the general public.

About the Author
Igor P. Lipovsky was born March 7, 1950, in Moscow, in an interfaith Russian-Jewish family. His paternal ancestors were prominent leaders and philanthropists of the Jewish community of Minsk, Belarus, while his mother (n�e Robinson) descended from the Russian-English family of well-known industrialists and merchants in pre-revolutionary Russia. Igor P. Lipovsky graduated with distinction from Lomonosov Moscow State University’s Institute of Asian and African Studies. He then worked as a researcher and doctoral student at Academy of Sciences, in Moscow. Because of his criticism of the totalitarian and anti-Semitic regime in the Soviet Union, he was forced to leave the country in 1987. He received his Ph.D. degree in Near Eastern History in Israel, in 1989. In 1987-1992 he taught at the Department of Middle Eastern History of Haifa University. After the collapse of the USSR, he was invited as a visiting professor to St. Petersburg University (1993-1995); he then taught in Los Angeles (1995-97) and Boston (from 1998). Igor P. Lipovsky specializes in Near Eastern and Central Asian History. He has published more than a hundred articles in Russian, German, British and American journals and five books in the English and Russian languages. He lives in suburban Boston and is now a United States citizen.

Professor Lipsky offer an intriguing and often convincing argument that early Semitic, pre- Jewish tribes joined other groups of Semites, arrived and either thrived in or suffered in Egypt separtely or with other Semitic tribes at different times during a 500 year evolution of unifying culturization. I do think the work suffers from spotty translation andsome awkward sentence structure. These minor but often iirritating short comings not withstanding I thoruoghly enjoyed the book and strongly recommend it to anyone interested in the early development of Western culture and values.

I really liked this book and the author's theory on there being 2 groups of semi nomadic western Semites that became the 12 tribes of Israel. His theory makes a lot of sense and helps clear up the history of the early Israelites. Also, his theory about there being two exoduses, and the times when they happened is interesting. I think all others who study about ancient Israel should read this book. This book is awesome.

Tim Bouquet is an author and journalist who has reported on military conflicts, organised crime and international takeover battles across the world for leading publications including the Telegraph Magazine, The Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, Reader's Digest and Esquire. He is the author of a crime novel and two works of non-fiction, notably Cold Steel: Lakshmi Mittal and the Multi-Billion-Dollar-Battle for a Global Empire, which was shortlisted for the Financial Times/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year. He also broadcasts and teaches journalism and creative writing. He lives on the south coast of England and is a frequent visitor to India.

Essential reading for Tire & Rubber Executives, insightful and relevant for all.

This book and its story is good reading for anyone interested in the most important driving force of our time - global entrepreneurship as a vehicle to achieve positive social impact! The book opens with a revealing personal account of the religious violence that plagued the Sikh community the book allows the reader to discover how those formative experiences continue to shape the pragmatic entrepreneurial drive of Onkar and his extended progeny.

If you are involved with business in India or the tire and rubber industry at all you will particularity relish the sharing by Onkar of his sentiments and insights leading into and out of negotiations with the "major tire manufactures" notable Michelin, Continental, Dunlop / Goodyear and Cooper Tire and importantly Cooper Chengshan. Each negotiation had by Apollo can also be seen as valuable commentary on the social cohesion limitations, strategies to overcome these challenges and its critical role in multinational commerce.

The (business of) tire and rubber content of this biography make this book essential reading for those that care for the subject. The story of a rising India and the flattening of the world into a shared social and economic arena make this story of a global citizen relevant reading for all.

Caitlin Keegan is the illustrator of Country Life Coloring Book and Color-Your-Own Greeting Cards. She has previously worked on staff at Sesame Workshop and Nickelodeon Magazine. She creates prints and stationery and sells them on her website, caitlinkeegan.com, and she licenses patterns and graphics for wallpaper and other products. Keegan is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

These cards fit all occasions and provide plenty of coloring opportunity, too. We love them and have already colored three of them and sent them on their way to friends and family. We did two of them with gel pens and one with colored pencils.
